I can’t be bothered to look up the Jalopnik review format most of you use, so I’ll just make it up. The car is a 2010 Renault Twingo 1.2 Expression.

Looks 6/10:

I think it looks fairly good, but it doesn’t exactly stand out. There are a few quirky touches but otherwise it’s pretty conventional. Painted steelies spruced it up a little.

Interior 7/10:

Kinja'd!!!

It’s a nice place to be for a cheap car, fit and finish is decent although I’ve had to fix a couple of rattles. The seats are well above average for the price range and fairly comfortable over long distances. A raised portion to rest your foot on while it’s on the accelerator is a nice touch. Front seat room is very good for a little car and its easy to get in a good driving position, back seat room is reserved for people with no legs. It’s essentially a 2+2 in that it’s designed to prioritise the two people in the front against back seat passengers. Some Twingos get fancy adjustable and removable rear seats. Mine doesn’t have those.

Toys 3/10:

It has an aux in and electric windows, that’s about it. You don’t even get a rev counter. I like my cars simple.

Power 2/10:

It doesn’t have any. It’s fun to rev the thing and it more than keeps up with traffic, but you aren’t going to be winning any drag races.

Handling 8/10:

Kinja'd!!!

Has that excellent go kart feel you get with a well set up lightweight car. Grips surprisingly well and changes direction very quickly with only a hint of body roll. As with all modern cars steering feel could be better, but you always know what’s going on. Lift off oversteer is possible if you’re adventurous.

The “fuck you it’s my car and I love it” bonus: 1’000’000/10

Score: 1’000’026/60

Didn’t even notice until you mentioned it, so not really.

I hate them. My first car had them and I swore never again.

Visibility is still pretty good so it’s not really an issue.

I found that the upper right corner of the windscreen was so obscured that oncoming vehicles were hidden at roundabouts.

The windscreen is so large that even with a good chunk of it obscured you can still see pretty well.

I meant the black thing sticking up in front of the wipers, damn Kinja crop failure.

Ahhh, that’s just part of the wiper mechanism. It’s a hinge so it can articulate to reach the top of the windshield.

I hadn’t until I bought this car. Just because the windshield is huge so a normal wiper wouldn’t do the job.

That’s an interesting feature.
